GLASS RAILINGS & BALUSTRADES.

Structural tempered and laminated glass panels for balustrades, staircases, mezzanines, and balcony railings — processed to your specification.

Overview

Glass balustrades and railings are a prominent architectural feature in modern commercial and residential buildings — staircases, mezzanine edges, balconies, and pool surrounds. The glass must be structurally adequate, safely specified, and accurately cut to fit the fixing system.

We supply tempered and laminated glass panels for balustrade applications. The choice between tempered and laminated glass depends on the application and the consequences of breakage — laminated glass holds together when broken, which is important for overhead or high-level applications. We will advise on the appropriate specification for your project.

All panels are cut to your dimensions on our CNC table, edge polished, and processed — tempered, laminated, or both — in-house. Holes for post fixings and notches for base channels are completed before tempering.

Typical Applications

  • Internal staircases
  • Mezzanine and gallery edges
  • Balconies and terraces
  • Pool and water feature surrounds
  • Commercial and retail interiors
Specification Considerations

What to think about before ordering

Tempered vs laminated

Tempered glass is stronger; laminated glass holds together on breakage. For high-level or overhead applications, laminated is often specified. We will advise.

Fixing system

The glass specification — thickness, hole positions, edge clearance — must match the balustrade fixing system. Provide the system details and we will confirm.

Structural loading

Balustrade glass must resist the loads specified in the building design. The structural engineer or system supplier should confirm the required glass specification.

Holes and notches

Post holes, base channel notches, and any other cut-outs must be specified before tempering. Provide positions and sizes with your order.
